All,
Round 3 or the Formula Vee Australia Series has been run at the newly resurfaced Morgan Park. For a first timer at Morgan Park, I had a blast. The track is a mixture of tight technical sections and wide open back section. Definetly a track to enjoy and thankyou to all the Queensland competitors for making us interstaters feel welcome.
The 1200 races started off a bit of a concern when our only competitor, Lindsay Murfet pulled out after only a few laps with rear suspension issues. Thankfully the Formula Vee Family found a way to get him back on the track with John Alder finding the required bits in his trailer and Lindsay made it to the finish of the last two races. Once again a huge thankyou for Lindsay and Kevin Murfet making the trip from Tasmania to Queensland.
For the 1600 races Michael Kinsella won the first two races and second in the third to once again win the event. Stephen Butcher pushed him hard during the day as well as Paul Kellerway abnd Curtis Porter once they recovered from issues in race 1. The very pleasing result was the third position going to a new and developing driver who was surprised and a bit excited to come in third overall for the day. Conrgradulations Alex Hedemann for a great drive over the three races.
The fourth round of the Formula Vee Australia Series will be the Island Magic event at the iconic Phillip Highway circuit on the 25th and 26th November. Its a great way to wrap up the year so hopefully we will get a bumper entry list of both 1200 and 1600’s so we can max out the grid as much as possible.
The placings are attached as at the end of round three
Regards
Michael Lloyd
Formula Vee Australia Series Coordinator.
