FVAA Members, In case you are not aware, in February of this year, the FVAA BoM agreed to support a group of students from the University of Adelaide who offered to produce a design for a Prototype Fuel Injection System that could potentially be incorporated into Formula Vee some time in the future. Please note that Fuel Injection is definitely not decided upon as a firm direction and until full consolation of the FVAA membership occurs then it will remain only an option being studied.
The intention of the FVAA in involving itself with a University in order to develop a potential specification of a Fuel Injection system, is to get a relatively independent group to assess the impact on our sport. armed with this independent assessment, an informed decision can be made of the potential for Fuel Injection for Formula Vee. The FVAA BoM understand that here is both high levels of interest and high levels of resistance to Fuel Injection as a potential to the existing PICT- 34 carburetor and it was felt that an independent review would be of benefit. Attached is the specification that was provided to the group of students for your review. You will see that part of the requirements of the student was to survey the FVAA membership to gauge what interest the FVAA members have in Fuel Injection and to gather some basic feedback. In the next week a survey will be added to the National website so you can have your input. The FVAA BoM encourage you all to read the attached specification so you understand what has been asked of the student group and then we would appreciate you to participating in the survey so we can get clear feedback as to the levels of interest in Fuel Injection. Regards FVAA BoM
